Palermo (2 nights) Taormina (2 nights)

Day 1: Palermo
Arrival at Palermo airport and independent transfer to your hotel in the city center

Day 2:  Palermo  
After breakfast the day is yours to independently explore the patchwork of culture and history embedded in Palermo's monuments and people.  (BB)

Day 3: Palermo/Agrigento/Piazza Armerina/Taormina
Today we drive across the vast countryside showcasing Sicily’s great variety of sceneries. We soon arrive in Agrigento whose history dates back to 580 BC.  Independent tour of the Valley of the Temples, a magnificent cluster of Greek ruins overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.  Later, we depart for Piazza Armerina for an independent visit of the ruins of the Roman Villa of Casale. The mosaics discovered here are celebrated among scholars of antiquity. Afterward, we drive along the coast to Taormina, the world famous resort town of Sicily. (BB)
 

Day 4:  Taormina
Today is yours to independently soak up Taormina's panoramic view, visit on your own the Greek-Roman Amphitheatre, shop, and lose yourself in the maze of narrow streets full of boutiques and delicious restaurants or OPTIONAL Jeep Ride experience to Etna Volcano (BB)

Day 5: Taormina/Catania (CTA)
Time to say goodbye to Sicily.  Independent transfer to Catania airport for your return flight.  (BB)
