Mount Etna Highlights

Mount Etna - South Side

Rifugio Sapienza (1,910m) is the primary tourist hub on Mount Etna’s south side (Nicolosi), offering hotels, restaurants, and immediate access to the cableway for crater excursions.

It serves as the main base for guided tours, 4×4 trucks, and trekking to 2,500m–3,000m+, while the inactive [Silvestri Craters] are adjacent.

Mount Etna - North Side

Piano Provenzana (Etna Nord) is a premier tourist and ski resort located at 1,810 meters on the northern slope of Mount Etna, near Linguaglossa, Sicily.

It offers unique skiing, snowboarding, and hiking with views of the Ionian Sea. Rebuilt after the 2002 eruption, it acts as a hub for guided excursions to the summit craters.
