Mount Etna, located on Sicily’s east coast, is Europe’s highest –approx. 3,400m– and most active stratovolcano.
A UNESCO World Heritage site, it is famous for frequent, relatively safe, and highly monitored eruptions. Visitors can explore its unique volcanic landscape, craters, and forests year-round, with peak hiking from May to October.

- Etna South Side: the main access point is Rifugio Sapienza, which offers a cable car (Funivia dell’Etna) and off-road buses to reach the summit zone.
- Etna North Side: the main access point is Piano Provenzana, which offers off-road buses to reach the summit zone.
